Rhymes ~ Lynn
« on: June 28, 2021, 03:16:57 PM »
The rhymes I am familiar with are the ones I read as a child. And these were were from Book 1 of My Bookhouse. I have fond memories of poring over My Bookhouse, advancing to Book 2 and Book 3 and so on as I grew older. I was wondering if anyone else had read these books?

We had one of the early editions, with the black book covers.

These books did not stay the same through the years. They say the compiler replaced some of the text and illustrations.

My favorite story was one for older kids. It took place during the English Civil War and a royalist was hidden from the Puritans in a suit of armor on display in a large manor.

can you remember if the hidden man in the armour was  in Warwick castle lynn

i went on a tour when I was a teenager to Warwick castle with my school ... and they had a story about someone who was hidden in a suit of armour  in one of the big rooms
I was just wondering if it could be the same tale.

I don't remember the name of the place, but it's been about 70 years since I read the story. The odds are good that it was Warwick Castle. I do remember that there was an illustration showing the armor on display.
