this is for you nicky
you wanted to know how i made glass like reflections.
like these ...

The steps
1 draw your main shape (i made a black ellipse )
2 draw a white ellipse and place it over the black (as in this sample)
3 select the transparent tool (looks like a drinking glass)
place the curser on the outer top left edge and drag it to the centre of the white ellipse and let it go

4 your done ...thats it .... if it doesnt look right it is because your brain knows how it was done
look away from the pc  count 10 Mississippi 's and when you look back you will see a glass ball. Try it and lets see.

by the way all the above  baubles were made with the black ellipse and 'reflection' you see below.

Teejay, can you move This to the SnapShots....  don't want it to get lost.   Another great future tutorial.

I gave it a try too and it's amazing how that little patch of white can make the entire thing look 3D.  I applied a little Gaussian blur to mine because I prefer the softer look.   Here's an example using your two circles. but but with the blur.
