« on: March 27, 2018, 11:28:52 am »
A while back San had posted how to isolate an object... then could be used as a tube somewhere else.
I cannot find this tutorial in my stuff. Can someone post or sending it to me please . :thanks02:

there may be other ways ..i know you will not like how i do it ..
but here goes.

i draw arounf the outer edge with the pen tool . i then clip the image into the pen tool shape ..then export it.

i like doing this because i can tweak the nodes around the vector outline to fit nicely.

told ya... i told ya you wouldnt like it .lol
maybe san can remember how she didi it...

WOW that was easy

ok here is how I did it
I opened a new doc ... I then used the place image tool to browse to my image andopen it in my doc.

i then right licked in the layers panel and chose 'Rasterize '
open pixel persona and choose the 'Selection tool brush  anduse the brush to  select the item you want to extract
 then go Edit/copy
Add a new pixel layer
Edit Paste
selection /deslect
then you can export it

remember too there is a refine  tab where you can ...erm..... lol... refine your selection
you will find this on the toolbar setting panel thingy near where you see the size of brush....grrrrrrrr cant think of the blasted name of that menu grrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Teejay, please tell me how you did this:  "i then right licked in the layers panel and chose 'Rasterize".    I licked my monitor on the right side in the layers until my tongue went numb and nothing happened. I must be doing something wrong! :yes03: :yay: :yes03: :yay: :laugh1:

Mary Lou  when I right click and choose Rasterize , I don't see anything other than beside the name I see (pixel)
Do you see that? And if done on a group layer it changes to an object .Cannot edit it anymore.

MaryLou ...     MaryLou ... I ....  :lol05:..... I ....    :look: :laugh3:  :thud:  i am .....speechless !!!!!

nicky you are right as soon as you rasterize a layer it becomes a pixel layer and it will no longer have nodes .

if this is not what you need for your project
tell us what you are doing and what you need it to do
and we will give it a go ...i love a challenge.

San's Clipart was the tutorial I was thinking of but couldn't find it.  I tried a search here but nothing showed up, also tried keying San Jewry into Google but nothing came up. Where did you find it Teejay?
