Knitted Cowl-Scarf - SherylC
« on: December 31, 2017, 12:35:21 pm »
Been under the weather over the Christmas and spent many hours in bed. To pass the time I come up with a Lacy design and knitted this Scarf. Well, it's more of a collar type scarf with some Pearls knitted in. I made a slit so that one side of the scarf will fit through neatly. Will need this when I got to Estonia in February where average temps are minus 15 degrees!

If anyone would does knit and would like the pattern, just yell loudly and I'll write it up.

That is beautiful Sheryl!  I would love the pattern.  I like that the scarf goes thru itself.  I love to knit, I just don't do it very often with all the cats!  Thank You!

Thanks Linda. So pleased that you like...and want the pattern. It's easy enough, just 10 rows, 4 of which are pattern rows. Give me a day or two and I will write it up. :)

I guess you need to watch your wool with all of those cats around.....wool heaven! lol

That's a lovely scarf, Sheryl!!  Will definitely come in handy in colder weather.  As for the pattern, it would probably be fun to knit but.. with our weather, I wouldn't have much use for it.   I used to knit a lot. Actually, I did make a hat earlier this year, but it's a give-away to the homeless shelter.  I don't even own a coat.   That would make a really nice gift for someone.   :thumb3: :yes01: :praise06:

Thanks MaryLou. No you wouldn't need a scarf where you are. I like knitting little scarves, they sit just nicely around the throat area.  Can't imagine not having a coat and have around 12 or so Macs, coats & jackets. One for each of our variable climate.....wet mostly.  lol

I make "bonding" squares for premature babies as the ICU have their quota of hats.  They are 5x5 inch simple plain squares with a heart stitched in a different design in the centre. They are knitted in pairs so that one can be given to the new born and the other to the mother. So that when they meet they have a bonding item.

Thanks Majse, It's very easy to add pearls or any other beads. They add a bit of weight to help the scarf fall flat too.

I can't make such nice "things" - not knitting, not AD etc.  :laugh8:

:wtg: Shez, but not for me, thank you. I hate to have something around my neck no matter how cold it is, I feel trapped  :laugh1:

Thank you all so much for your comments.

Grethe, I can't bear anything too restrictive around my neck either but ok as long as it's loose. Certain wools/fabrics give me a reaction so I have to be careful about that too.

Keep on smiling! It will make people wonder what you're up to!! :)
