so  you  remember how I had so much trouble with an update ..not this big one..but the one before
and I dragged that nice young man in and he helped me sort it .

he also stopped the updates … this was because my pc was too old for the updates … that's what HP told me .

so imagine my fright when I walked into the room and an update was in progress ..
it took an hour ( i have superfast broadband ) and i am now the very proud owner of my old HP desktop with the latest windows update
it went smoothly...oh my god... i was having kittens...lol

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa   :yes03: :smiley01: :praise53:

Hoorah! After two weeks and two days, the new kitchen has now been finished...well apart from awaiting new blinds and the painter to start.  So much hassle I would never have this done again......ever! lol

Going away to Canada for a few weeks from 8th - 1st July. When I get back I need to reinstall all my programmes starting with AD & AP of course. Once they are installed I shall be back here posting again. By the way the last update wrecked havoc with my pc...windows wouldn't load, it got stuck in the update and had to pay to get it fixed again.

I know I am too busy with the ccleaner - and you are right. But the cCleaner doesn't take long. AVG is faster than my old antivirus (Bullguard)

I have been thinking of Kaspersky - I have heard a lot of good things about it through the years

I have used Font Viewer for years and have been very satisfied with it's performance.  It is also free and works well with this latest Windows update.  You can read about ithere

Teejay is right, I would highly recommend FontRunner.  It's an oldie, but a goodie.  I've tried a number of different ones but found this to be the best.  I have all my fonts in folders on my hard drive.  I point FontRunner to the top level folder and it finds all my fonts.  I can go through them by category, or however I want.  To use them, you can install or use the sharing option which temporarily installs the fonts in all programs that use fonts.  After you're finished with them, you can unshare and they all disappear from the list.  Below is a clip from the email I sent Teejay.

Linda, for my part I used "Typograph" for years but I abandoned it because I had problems with the latest version. I contacted twice their company which did not help me, apparently I was an idiot unable to understand their software....

I have been using MainType 8.0 Standard Edition for some time and am fully satisfied. Although this is only the basic version, it is more than enough for my needs.
