New Document Settings
« on: July 04, 2016, 04:06:40 PM »
Since most of us here are creating graphics to be displayed in a browser on the internet, I would suggest you use the settings in the example below.   There are many settings that one can use, but for now, unless you understand the other settings, you might want to stay with what you know is "safe".

These settings will be the most efficient for web graphics. Let's go through some of them:

Type: Choose Web from the dropdown menu.

Document Units: Most of us are Pixel oriented but it's your choice.

Colour Format: RGB/16.

Colour Profile: This is picked up by the system based on your installed printer

Transparent Background: When checked, you get a gray and white checkered workspace. When unchecked, the workspace will be white. It's your choice.

Dimensions: Page Width and Height are your choice. We all have our favorite settings.

DPI: 72 is perfect for web images. However, if you're creating something to be printed, you will want to set that to a greater value.

Include Margins: Check this only if your document will be printed. You can set visible margins or retrieve the margin from your printer based on the printer profile. These margins are not printed.

Just for fun, select Include Margins and Retrieve margin from Printer so you know what it looks like.  Don't be afraid to experiment and remember, these settings are only guidelines for the beginner.

Keep on smiling! It will make people wonder what you're up to!! :)
