Very interesting, Rege! I don't remember any cans with the keys like your  illustration for corned beef, but that's probably because I have never eaten any corned beef or any Spam such as Linda mentions.

The Schilling cans had a lid on top. Here's a can of Schilling Cloves that shows it.

Oh I remember the tins with the keys, I thought that was so cool.  It seems like here it was something that was made by Armour or Hormel, like Spam or Treat.
