Thought I would share a few pointers that have helped me look for the kind of inspirational Google images that I want and at the size I require.
There are settings that will help us look safely and without breaching any violations regarding borrowing images created by others.
As we search we may get a lot of information we don't wish to see. So first here's what I do to prevent that:-
SafeSearch:-
In the Google Images menu bar, click on SafeSearch, then click on Filter Explicit Results. Once that has been done you will see a box stating that SafeSearch is On. Now you can search without getting stuff you do not wish to see.
Usage Rights:-
Not all Google images are up for grabs so here's how to ensure that you "borrow" the images that are safe to use and able to modify without breaching any violations.
In the Google Images menu bar, click on Tools. Once the additional Menu bar appears under the Main menu click on Usage Rights followed by Labelled for Noncommercial Reuse.
The images that appear are ones that authors do not mind being used and/or modified as long as you do not use them commercially.. There is another setting to select if you wish to browse images for commercial purposes.
Click on "Show Sizes" and the sizes of the various images will display. You may find the image you wish to use but the size is not suitable. Just click on the Website to see if other sizes are available to download. There are usually a selection of sizes to choose from.
Lastly....have fun whilst you "SafeSearch".
