Program bombs - please test
« on: January 13, 2019, 03:40:05 pm »
I was going to try the mini-tut that Teejay posted but the program keeps bombing on me. These were my exact steps:

1.  Opened a new document, 800x800
2.  Set the stroke to 3
3.  Selected a Fill color
4.  Opened the tool with all the presets
5.  Selected the Heart tool

My new document disappeared and the program locked up.
I tried this 3 times with the same results
Rebooted my system and tried again, got the exact same results.

Then I tried it this way:

1.  Open New Document
2.  Draw heart
3.  Set Stroke and fill color
All went well.

Can a few of you please try it using my first method?  It will not work for me doing it that way and if it can be replicated by others, I can report it.
Find a need and fill it!  . . .

Linda, did you set up the color and stroke BEFORE you selected the heart icon?

I just tried it twice....the exact same way you did....step by step.  No problems either time.  Then , just to say I tried.... I also did it  your second way and had no trouble with that way either.  So my results are the same as Linda's....no problem here.

Thanks for trying it - I just tried again and same results.  There's something on my system that AD does not like! :thumb3:

Well, I tried it again, opened new document, then the first thing I did was attempt to select the heart. The program locks up at that point.  I  will probably have to reinstall it but I don't want to lose my installed brushes and such.

MaryLou, I just tried it out, with the Beta version and the release version, and everything works fine.
You do not have to reinstall AD, you can close it, then open it by holding down the "Ctrl" key until the "Clear User Data" window appears.
Leave it as it appears, with only the first three options checked and press "Clear", AD will keep the brushes, assets, styles, swatches...
It is always wise to backup all these elements on an external support in order to be able to reinstall them in case of problems with AD or even a computer change.

I was going to tell you to do exactly what Rege said because mine worked perfect.  Because I had to do that when I could not  View the Planes panel.

Keep on smiling! It will make people wonder what you're up to!! :)
