Sad news that Mali is standing down as Mod for the AP forum

Thank you for finding us excellent tutorials and for all the encouragement.
the times i have joined in were excellent fun.
i hope you stick around and have more time to play.

This brings me to the Question of what we do with the AP forum
I know only a few of us use this forum but that doesnt mean it has to go

Is there a way to make it better or more interesting to all of us
or is it ok as it is ..is there anyone who would want to help mod that forum

should we have just a Workshop  and A Show and Tell..
or should it go.

even if you dont use the forum and you have any thoughts on the subject..lets hear them
we are all in this together...  :roses:

Teejay, since there is so little interested in AP, maybe we should just scrap that section of the board and just be an AD board.  It's up to you. :cancan: :cancan:
Find a need and fill it!  . . .

I'm actually  quite interested in affinity photo as well as designer, I know I'm new here and haven't  really gotten to know any of you but there is a lot that can be done in photo and if you have both programs it's so easy to go back and forth and work a piece in both.  Maybe it could be kept alive somehow?  perhaps tutorial using both programs together would  bring more interest in photo?

My message will not make much progress, but, personally, not taking pictures, I don't go to the Photo forum, so I wouldn't mind if I didn't.
If other members want to keep it, they should come forward and mobilize to make it live.

Frances, I hope that other members will come forward to keep this forum, you are certainly not the only one who wants it maintained! It will then be necessary to find someone of good will who agrees to be the moderator so that he can really be alive.

Oh come on! Photo is very interesting, so please let it continue! I know we are not many to use it, but for us who are interesting it is vital to have it here!

Frances, you are so right. Go back and forth between the 2 is what I often do. There are filters in photo that is interesting to use, Displace is nice to make textures is one of them.

it has some great tools but it also lacks  quite a bit too...as far as i can see ....BUT
i havent given it much of a chance ...

anymore ....

I know what you mean ML ..if someone would help it would be a start
its fun being a mod ... you get to plan exiting things to do and whip people when they dont do them
the Mod fairy pays you in heaps of happiness.

I've been a mod before, but I will not do it alone!
Teejay, you are right, AP has a lot to offer, and is a good combination with AD! You need them both.  :yeah:

It's difficult for me to comment since I do not use the program.  Sure, it can make for some interesting photo effects and now I understand that maybe some plugins are available or going to become available....but it is something that does not interest the creative side of me.  I mainly see it as a tool for photographers and ones who wish to fool around with already made images.  I could say the same for Publisher.  It is a nice program but I have no wish to tackle learning it either.  In short....if there is enough interest and someone (or two) willing to take it on, then why not leave it?
At the moment I have my hands full trying to get the full potential out of AD.  I would really hate it  now , if you decided to not do that anymore, but times change and we must adapt.

Linda, it is just AP, not the designer, we are talking about. I love them both... :yes01:

Linda, I am 100% of your opinion, with the first part of your message you have perfectly summarized what I think and I have the same position as you.
With regard to the second part of the message, as Grethe points out, the AD part would not be affected, it is the continuation or not of the AP forum that is at issue.
