I'm so glad to be here and look forward to learning AD and AP.
I've had Affinity programs for several years and did nothing with them.
I've used Jasc/Corel PSP for over 12 years and taught it long ago.  I love Affinity because of it's power, results, and one time fee.
PhotoShop and AI with it's monthly fees is not for me.  I've tried it and couldn't find much help learning it unless I paid hundreds of $$
I'm so glad I found you here.  I hope to learn a lot.
I'm from Oregon coast USA and raised a large family with my high school sweetheart.

Yes you can find some really cool beginners tutorials at the pir webpage

I still play with those tuts ... they are fun ..

we also have a go at following other tutorials  that are made for other programs  like photoshop or ink scape

we use dragoart website which is a childrens how to draw site Click Here
it doesnt matter if it turns out different to the drawing or tutorial its all about learning and enjying Affinity

we also have a forum here where members can give a link to a tutorial they have done and think others may like to try it  Affinity Designer Post a Project

i believe you can make anything in this program
and it wont be long before you are doing and believing the same  :ok2:

Welcome, Mookie!  This is a great place if you like friendly and helpful people.   :smiley01:  There's always someone to step up when needed.

When it comes to tutorials, there are tons of video tuts but most of us aren't crazy about videos because sometimes you can't understand a person, especially if they have a thick accent, or they zip by to fast for you to follow, and some are video only, no voice.  There are some good ones as well so you just have to look for them.

When it comes to written tutorials, here is a list of ones I know about:
There are 34 of them at Pircnet that are designed for beginners.
There are some at Teejays Webnest
And there are some at Tutrials by San
And... more at Chaparral Graphics

The above written tutorials are all by members of this forum so if you need  help, you've got the authors right here at our finger tips!

Glad you decided to join us!  :yeah:
Find a need and fill it!  . . .
